Use this screen to access the MOTOR database and the Operations toolbar. Other database tabs include Tire and Part Codes. Use this panel to access Advisor if the feature is enabled.
Field Label | Description |
---|---|
Groups | Use this option to view a listing of all the primary groups of the MOTOR database part groups. The groups appear automatically when you open the database. To display Groups when you are viewing parts, select the Groups button. You can select a group, but you cannot change its name, delete it, or add a new one. |
Search | Enter part or all of the part name, part number in this field. |
(search icon) | Selecting this button searches the MOTOR database using the search criteria you entered in the Search field. The button is represented by a magnifying glass icon. |
(blue back arrow) | This option is located to the right of the Search feature. Select this option to return to the active part group after a search has been performed. It is visible when the parts subgroup screen is open. |
(parts filter icon) | This option is represented by a gold filter icon. Use this option to filter the MOTOR database parts you view. Filtering options include Right Parts, Left Parts, Filtered (Including Options), and Filtered (Excluding Options). |
HNotes | If the subgroup has a headnote or service note in the database, click the HNotes button to display it. This option is visible when viewing the parts subgroup. |
Frame | This option allows you to select a frame worksheet, or the frame specifications of the selected vehicle. |
Refinish | Select this option to apply refinish hours to the selected line. |
Refinish (With changes) | This droplist option opens the Estimate Line Properties screen. This screen allows you to edit the description and hours information. |
Blend | Select this option to apply blend time to the selected line. |
Blend (With changes) | This droplist option opens the Estimate Line Properties screen. This screen allows you to edit the description and hours information. |
R&I | Select this option to apply R&I time to the selected line. |
R&I (With changes) | This droplist option opens the Estimate Line Properties screen. This screen allows you to edit the description and hours information. |
Replace | Select this option to add the selected line to the estimate. The part price, description , and labor hours are added to the estimate. |
Replace (With changes) | This droplist option opens the Estimate Line Properties screen. This screen allows you to edit the description and hours information. |
Repair | Select this option to edit the labor time for the selected line. The part description , and labor hours are added to the estimate. |
Repair (With changes) | This droplist option opens the Estimate Line Properties screen. This screen allows you to edit the description and hours information. |
Section | Selecting this option opens the Estimate Line Properties screen. This allows you to enter section information for the selected line. |
Section (With changes) | This droplist option opens the Estimate Line Properties screen. This screen allows you to edit the description and hours information. |
Operations | Select this option to access other operations not found in the toolbar. Options include Align, Sublet, Sublet Glass, Recore, and None. |
Recy | This option allows you to replace the selected part with a recycled part. |
A/M | Use this option to replace the selected part with an aftermarket part. This option opens the Select Aftermarket Part screen if you have this feature enabled. |
Opt OEM | This option allows you to replace the selected part with an optional OEM part. |
Recond | This option allows you to replace the selected part with a reconditioned part. |
Compare | This option allows you to make a comparison using repair versus replace operations and comparing the cost of OEM and alternate part types. |
Compare (With changes) | This droplist option opens the Estimate Line Properties screen. This screen allows you to edit the description and hours information. |
PDR | Select this option to open the Paintless Dent Repair screen and enter repair time for the selected part. This operation is not available to CCC ONE Comp-Est users. |
Guide | Selecting this option allows you to select the MOTOR Guide to Estimating or the RACE Guide. |
MOTOR Guide to Estimating | This is the MOTOR reference guide for estimating. This Guide To Estimating provides the guidelines that apply to MOTOR Crash Estimating Data. |
RACE Guide | This is the Recycled Assemblies Reference Guide that relates to recycled parts operations. This Guide To Estimating provides the guidelines that apply to MOTOR Crash Estimating Data. |
Field Label | Description |

(subgroup) |
This pane displays a listing of the subgroups that fall under the opened group. If the Group has a service note, it applies to all subgroups, and it will appear under the subgroup. The subgroups appear below the Operations toolbar in the left most pane of the database. When you select a subgroup the parts belonging to that subgroup appear in the center database panel. |
(parts list pane) |
This pane displays the parts that fall under the subgroup you selected. When the parts list appears, highlight the part, and select one of the options from the Operations toolbar. |
(part availability) |
This field is to the left of the part item number column and displays the part availability. Valid values include: D = part is discontinued A = approximate price C = core charge blank = neither This information is taken from the database. |
(part item number) |
The numbers in this field correspond to the numbers in the graphics pane. This number is taken from the database. Select a part, and then select an operation from the Operations toolbar. When you are finished, the selected part is added to the estimate lines. |
Description |
The part description displays in this field. |
(vehicle part location) |
This information is taken from the database. Values include R (right side), L (left side), and blank. This information is taken from the database. |
Year Range |
This is the model year range for the part. This information is taken from the database. |
Price | This is the part list price. |
(part classification code) | This value is the MOTOR part charge category type. Valid values include S (structural), M (mechanical). This field appears to the right of the Price field. |
Labor Hours | This is the number of labor hours associated with the part. Blank indicates no hours. This information is available from the database when applicable. |
(labor charge category) |
This value is the labor charge category type selected by the user.The default value is blank which indicates body labor. Other valid values include F (frame), S (structural), D (diagnostic), E (electrical), G (glass), PDR (Paintless Dent Repair), plus four entries that are user defined . |
Paint |
The paint hours associated with the part are displayed in this field. Blank indicates no paint hours. This information is available from the database when applicable. |
Footnote |
The database footnote attached to the highlighted part appears in this field. This information is taken from the database. Footnotes appear automatically when you highlight a part. If the footnote is more than three lines long, you can scroll up or down through the note. You can copy and past these notes into the estimate line or notes. |
